"Time editor-at-large and CNN host Fareed Zakaria was suspended from both places for a month on Friday after admitting to lifting parts of a story from the New Yorker.
. . . .
This is not the first time Zakaria has come under ethical fire. Columnist Jeffrey Goldberg accused him of lifting quotes without attribution in 2009."
Zakaria, of course, also writes a regular column for The Washington Post, whose editorial page editor announced, "Given his acknowledgment today, we intend to review his work with him" (see: http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/fareed-zakaria-suspended-by-cnn-time-for-plagiarism/2012/08/10/f6315e96-e335-11e1-ae7f-d2a13e249eb2_story.html).
Zakaria has regular discussions with Obama concerning national security and foreign policy (see: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/13/fareed-zakaria-admits-hes_n_861685.html).
It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
Well, a bastard is a bastard is a bastard. Of course, spinning started immediately "But he apologized" to which someone responded immediately with something like "Oh, that's nice. We should promote this attitude (when someone is caught) - I've just robbed a bank. I am sorry. Or - I killed him. Sorry about that."
