Re Maureen Dowd's latest New York Times op-ed entitled "Bush and Clinton Dynasties Hit Trump Bump," don't even bother, unless you've run out of melatonin. Trump has paved the way for Biden? Given that we already have the narcissists, it's time to send in the clowns!

In fairness to both Maureen and Matthew Dowd (coincidental last name), this is a valid look at the dynasty dread of another Bush-Clinton election while trying to explain the Trump phenom.
ReplyDeleteAt the time, I thought Jeb! announced to stop a Romney re-run. Last night, I thought Trump jumped in to stop Jeb!
Maureen Dowd forgot to mention Bernie! as the anti-dynasty Socialist Democrat. She can not process the fracturing-in-real-time of what is called the Democratic Party.
Bernie is on CNN right now. Trump is easier to listen to.
The sad part is that no one is talking about Jim Webb's candidacy, mostly because he represents the voters discarded by what used to be the party of Jefferson and Jackson:

"...Long before he was elected to the U.S. Senate, back when James Webb was 30, he went to visit his grandmother’s youngest sister in Kensett, Ark. He had recently graduated from law school, but his great aunt was not impressed.
In an interview with “The Fine Print,” Webb recalls the encounter: “She looked at me and said ‘you’ve been to law school, did they teach you how to lie yet?’”
A few months later, after he started working for a congressman, Webb went to see her again, “she said, ‘you’ll sell out, they all sell out, when you prove to me that you won’t sell out, I’ll let you in my house.’ She met me in the front yard.”
This was the “Aunt Lena test. ...”
She wanted him to convince her that he was going to stay true to the values, roots and people with whom he grew up. ..."
You do not need to be a clown to pass Aunt Lena's test.
