Obama, Mom Jeans and Narcissism Gone Wild

"I told folks I'm just supposed to be eye candy here for you guys."

- President Obama, "The View," September 2012

Of course, everyone remembers Obama's 2012 appearance on the American talk show "The View," during which he described himself to his female hosts as "eye candy."

Well, this narcissistic remark seemed to have been forgotten until Friday, when the president phoned in to "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" and declared in response to Sarah Palin's taunt that he wears "mom jeans":

"I’ve been unfairly maligned about my jeans. The truth is, generally I look very sharp in jeans."

Obama was serious.

At a time when tensions are flaring in the Ukraine and Obamacare is unraveling, this is what preoccupies the president?

Perhaps he should have spent a few more days (months?) at the golf course of the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo (see: http://jgcaesarea.blogspot.co.il/2014/03/fareed-zakaria-why-this-time-obama-must.html) and allowed Biden to run the show in his absence.

  1. He's not the first, nor will he be the last narcissistic president. They all thought they were God's gift to women.

"If I don't have a woman every three days or so I get a terrible headache." --President John Kennedy

"Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." --President George W. Bush

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky." --President Bill Clinton

"How does it feel having a three-inch vertical?" --President Barack Obama

  2. Be fair. Whether they are mom jeans or ordinary jeans, wearing jeans is something that the president can accomplish. Remember the words of the song The Hokey Pokey...? "You put your left leg in, you put your right leg in..." Well... those are the instructions to Obama when he gets dressed in those famous jeans of his.
